The brilliant minds behind Universal’s attractions and its culinary concepts have come together to deliver the next level of dining at Universal CityWalk.

Opening later this year, The Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen will transport you into a 19th century-inspired Steampunk chocolate factory. You’ll indulge your appetite amidst towering smoke stacks, funky gadgetry, and staff wearing unique Steampunk fashion.

And that’s only the beginning.

The food will take your imagination to new heights with a menu that features unique twists on classic steak, seafood and pasta entrees, gourmet burgers, sandwiches, incredible salads, all-day brunch and so much more. And the desserts will be simply…stunning.

Here’s a sneak peek of some of the milkshakes to get your mouth watering:

  • Chocolate x5: An explosion of chocolate with chocolate spirals, chunks, ice-cream and whipped cream.
  • Bacon Brittle: A fun twist on a breakfast favorite with bacon ice cream, bacon brittle, chocolate covered bacon and bacon caramel.
  • Espresso Buzzzz: A coffee lover’s dream with coffee ice-cream and chocolate covered beans.
  • Red Velvet: A milkshake topped with a Red Velvet cupcake… enough said.
  • Key Lime Pie: We’ve taken this classic Florida dessert and turned it into a delicious shake. You’ll even get a slice of pie on top!

The sundaes are anything but ordinary with flavors like Salted Caramel Flan, Chocolate Brownie Bark and S’mores. This extreme twist on a summer favorite features layers of chocolate ice-cream, chocolate sauce, marshmallow cream and graham crackers.

Will you need a golden ticket to get in? Where’s Willy?

    • Me

You will need to have your own gold mine to pay.

    • Shiala

Well, is it Gene Wilder Willy or Johnny Depp Willy? Because it’d hardly be worth it if he was the latter.

  2. John mckillip

What is the ETA on opening? Possibly September?

    • paula

when does it open any idea

  3. Susan Fuentes

The peanut butter and brittle yumm!!!

  4. Poshmotif

I’d like a sampler of everything please ?

  5. Glenn

The rice crispy treat milkshake, no, the strawberry sundae, no, the chocolate covered banana milkshake, no, the chocolate sundae, no, ah…. Fantastic idea! Just what Citywalk needs, can’t wait to see it open!

  6. kayley

When does this open, I hope it is open when I go in September 14th and I want to try chocolate 5X

    • Melissa

I’m scheduled to go in June… I’ll be missing it 🙁

    • Amy

Yes, I want to know when it will be open too. Would like to come within the year.

    • paula

    • paula

when does it open any idea

    • Kelly

I heard it is “scheduled” to open in August. Lets hope the opening is not delayed.

  7. Kiersten Dossey

The Shakes look amazing – that will be a tough decision

  8. Spencer Valdez

Question: will this be replacing NBA City? I read that there was supposed to be a WWE Hall of Fame restaurant in that space.

    • Tyler Murillo

Yeah this concept is replacing NBA City. The WWE Hall of Fame was just a rumor.

  9. Robert omalley

This looks amazing. I hope it is open by time I go later this year. One it sounds good and two like the steampunk design.

  10. Rebecca N.

I will be making multiple trips just so I can try all of the desserts that I want in these pictures. That doesn’t even take into account the savory dishes that will be added once we get a look at the full menu.

I think the first trip will include the Brooke (brownie cookie hybrid) sundae and the S’more sundae.

    • Rebecca N.

      Stupid auto-correct. Brookie sundae.

    • Shiala

I’d REALLY like to see their savory creations. Will they overdo it on chocolate, or will they accentuate the dishes just right? What other confectionery tones will be used? I’m excited the most about that.

  11. Robert Pilz

If it is chocolate flavored it has no calories.

  12. sandra

Key Lime pie! looks stunning & cant wait 🙂

  13. Tag

Steampunk chocolate factory? Sign me up!

  14. mandy kreczmer

when will this magnificent place be opening please

  15. Susan

All of them, will have to bring a crowd

  16. Rachel W.

Will any of the available chocolate items be gluten &/or soy free? Almost all chocolate made in America has soy lecithin as an emulsifier in it, making is very hard for those with soy allergies. I would love to be able to bring my friend here but only if we can get confirmation that food allergies can be addressed.

    • Norelys Pedron

I hope so, although I switched from cow milk to almond, coconut and soy 🙂

    • Alli Rivers

You’ll definitely be able to get all the allergen information you’ll need once the restaurant opens and they have a finalized menu.

  17. Angel

When is Grand Opening and will their be mini samplers?

  18. Caryl

The banana split !!!!! Although they all look amazing

  19. Lauren

    I want this open now!!!!!!!!!!!!1

    • Shiala

Don’t care how, I want it nooow!

      • Chris

Now, now, don’t be a bad egg. But if you are good, you can have snozzberries added to your dessert. You can even sample them on the lickable wallpaper. I’m looking forward to going in October (hopefully will be open) however my diet is going to take a hit.

  20. Norelys Pedron

Everithing looks delicious, I think my son will like to try all of them lol, I just hope they have also options for people with allergy to some ingredients and low sugar, because we’ll go to Universal next Summer 😉 I love the Steampunk concept, the costumes, it’s very unique and I guess would be a lot fun for everybody!

    • Alli Rivers

You’ll be able to get allergen information once the location opens, probably! I don’t think you’ll be able to get low sugar though.

  21. Raffaella

It’ll be great if you could plan to have gluten-free options served in this wonderful place!
Please, consider those who cannot eat gluten 🙂 Thank you!

    • Alli Rivers

Universal has allergen info in all of their restaurants!

  22. Samantha Hatten

All of them. Can’t wait to bring our family. Yum!

  23. marie washington

omg the one with the all that bacon

  24. Nick W

Will this just be desserts or will this be a whole menu?

    • Nicki

It says full menu in the article..steaks, pasta, seafood and sandwiches. The desserts are just the stars of the menu!

  25. Darleen mclaughlin

When will you be open, visiting Orlando end of October

  27. Giovana

When is it gonna be open ????

  28. Allana

Where do I apply for floor staff??

  29. Sharon Sw

How can you pick just one? They ALL look amazing!

  30. Bougainvillea

A cupcake on top of your milkshake???? Yes please. Damn, why can’t I come up with these brilliant ideas?

  31. black tap fan

WOW!!!! WAY TO STEAL AN IDEA! I know you didn’t make that idea on your own! Explain yourself! We know you got it from NYC Black Tap!

    • Shiala

Oh, right… like there aren’t a hundred restaurants like Black Tap all across the US. I’m near Austin, and there’s a healthy handful just like that. Even more in Dallas (many with even more creativity.)
Black Tap is far from original. I’m reading the menu, and while it looks good, it’s not exactly groundbreaking.

  32. tjhnson

They need to do better with the chocolate desserts IMO. Nothing special.

  33. Dash the Chocolate Lover

I’ve got a golden ticket, oh I so can’t wait to dine her with my children ok their teens and I am making them go with me ha with the draw of decadent chocolate desserts. Chocolate heaven here we come.

  34. Suzy Costigan

That thing with the Rice Krispie Treat on top? Yeah – THAT!!!!! Oh my goodness!

  35. Carol

Will you be able to just go to the restaraunt, or do you have to go to Universal to get in?

  36. Sarah White

Why can’t this go into Universal California as well!?!? Living in Hawaii, Orlando is next to impossible for us. ?

  37. me fanta

Umm who is the steampunk lady and guy… where are the umpa loompas?

    • Peaches

This chocolate emporium has nothing to do with Wonka! It is a Steam Punk themed chocolate restaurant! They changed the name from “chocolate factory” to “chocolate emporium” to try to avoid people confusing it with Wonka!

  38. Stemarmic

    Looks INCREDIBLE!!
I hope you’ll consider offering a vegan treat and gluten free for our celiac friends!

  39. Debra Kay

Restaurant looks beyond anyone’s imagination, would love to try the S’Mores shake. Yum

  40. Kelly

I hope they plan to do this at Universal Hollywood too!

  41. Jenny

Espresso Bzzz for sure! Will be making a special trip over for this!

  42. Cindy Branham

All I can say is this looks like Heaven on Earth!!! I don’t think I could get past the first layer. It would take me days to eat just one of these, but it would be so worth it!!!

  43. carol

going in October I hope this will be open because I really want to try this place

  44. Trisha

Will you have gluten free, dairy free, egg free options?

  45. Dellarocco

I walked by this yesterday, and my daughter and I both got so excited, being season pass holders, we are looking forward to be one of the first to experience this delectable, delicious food. And Willy Wonka Is My All Time Favorite Movie….I always dreamed of visiting the factory myself and riding off with Willy Wonka myself in that glass elevator!

    • vjhr

It’s NOT Willy Wonka-themed in any way.

  52. Vickie angelo

When will this be open for planning purposes. My favorite movie of all time.

  53. Elizabeth Bram

Everything look amazing! Looks like a must-see experience for our next visit to Universal. I’m excited! When exactly is it set to open so that we might plan (& prepare to fast!!) before we come?

  63. Fosheezy

I would hope they would have Willy Wonka’s Father onsite to do the dental work after eating these deserts.

  64. Rella

I hope you will have dairy free versions of the milkshakes, using soy or coconut milk…

  65. Pete S

It was incredable, the meatloaf was my favorite OMG fuffly light and the taste just delightful… and then the desserts, We ordered 3 of them what can I say …amazing it was so worth the wait … please open one in Los Angeles .. we must have this ..that my only complaint that there isnt one at our city walk in Los Angeles

  100. Sheila

Happened to be down there tonight and they were having a preview night. Grand opening is next week or the week after. Nothing to do with Willy Wonka! We had a group of 5. Food was good and had a waiter (Youssef) that was outstanding! Then I had the Chocolate x5 Milkshake. Awesome! But very rich – and very large. It comes in a plastic souvenir mug you get to take with you. Plan on sharing with someone!…

  101. bob and kevin gillies

  108. Lana Striker

    Good Morning.

My family & I were there on Tuesday and had a delicious lunch before heading home to Connecticut.
Our son enjoyed a s’mores milkshake after lunch. Our waitress surprised us when she said the cup it came in was a souvenir!
What a special treat! Unfortunately, the top and straw were not given to us with the cup:(
I am hoping we can have one sent or find out where we can buy one…
We loved the experience and the lunch!

    Thank you,
    L. Striker (

  109. Charlene

I was just there and it is amazing, the food was outrageous, the servers treat you so special. My daughter ,granddaughter and me went and we had a server name mike that was amazing!!!!!! Penelope walks around and they come to each table, we also had went on Tuesday afternoon ,because we think that is the best place, and we will always go back, the food prices are not very high. Then you go to the store I had spent over 200.00 in there. They have the most beautiful items.. and my granddaughter went and had gotten a bag googles candy, and that night I had spent another 200. Thank you so much excellent thank you you really have to try this place..

  110. LP

The Chocolate Factory needs to be a theme park not just a restaurant. Imagine… a park filled with editable plants, trees with gum drops and all other decadence! Just like the movie!! Doesn’t have to be “real” just imaginary. This “Toothsome” restaurant won’t cut it. Theme park. This needs to be a theme park… maybe even in another county like Austria or Germany.

  111. Dan Carr

Our extended family of 11 kids, from age 62 to age 3, had a fantastic evening at Toothsome Chocolate Emporium. We ate some of the most wonderful treats. It was mind-blowing. It was awesome. The staff was wonderful. They were fantastic. It was A-1 service and great customer experiences all around. We loved it.

  112. Judy

I won’t fit on the plate to go back home, LOL.

  113. Rani

My husband and I had dinner there this evening and it was amazing! Johnny was our server and I highly recommend requesting him if you go, he was wonderful. We will be going back there later on this month.

  114. Conna Porter

WE ate there for dinner. The food was cold when it finally came after about 20 minutes We sent it back and the second try gave me the wrong order while the other order was just nuked in the microwave to heat it up. The server was not at all attentive. The manager did apologize and compensated one of our meals. I felt the whole check should have been compensated. Very disappointing visit.
I could not recommend this restaurant.

    • JayT

The reviews above are very suspect to me as I’ve eaten here twice and it was awful both times. Shakes only look impressive, but taste blah at best. Service is slow and if there’s a problem you have to suggest a solution to a manager that takes forever to get to your table. Only impressive thing about this place is the outside.

  115. Joreliz Calderon

I would love to recognize Jason for his outstanding guest service and great professionalism. He made a 1st time visit a day to remember ❤️

    • Thank you for sharing! We would love to hear more about your experience with Jason. Give our Guest Services team a call at 407-224-4233 option 4. Thanks!

  116. Ed Mulvihill

Was there on 4/19/19 around 6pm-ish. Sat upstairs, had a server named Sean. Just wanted to say he was absolutely hilarious and really made our night.our food was OK, desert was fantastic, but he really made the experience worth it and left us wanting more. Please make sure he is given our thanks. We will be back because of him.

    • Hi Ed!
Thanks so much for sharing this with us. I’m so happy Sean was able to make your experience so memorable. I have documented this, so it can be sent to his team. Thank you again!
      – Laura

  117. Kenneth Geniusz

Having heard only good things about “The Toothsome Chocolate Emporium. . . ” I took my family to dinner there on Tuesday, April 23, 2019. I ordered the first item on the menu a “Red Rueben” sandwich. It, after considerable time, was served cold, and burnt. The accompanying French fries were cold. It was a bad experience. I said nothing in front of the family for fear of upsetting them. I’m writing this to inform you that the poor preparation of the meal was a disappointing end to what otherwise was an excellent family holiday. Sincerely, Kenneth Geniusz

    • Hi Kenneth,
Thank you very much for taking the time to bring this to our attention. I can assure you our priority is always to give our Guests a memorable experience with quality services, and specially quality food. I’m so sorry if your meal did not meet your expectations. Please know I’ve documented your experience, so it can be sent to the proper management teams. If you wish to discuss this further, please don’t hesitate to call our Guest Services department at (407) 224-4233, option 4, or email, and mention you left this message. Thank you again, and we’d love to improve your experience with us.
      – Laura

  118. Christine hanes

Our family of 8 with 4 children ate there Saturday night 6/1 and Sean was our server. He was amazing with everyone. The kids loved him and he let them see his goggles. He is a real asset to your restaurant. Great food, milkshakes were amazing.

    • Hi Christine!

Thank you for your positive feedback. We will be sure to share your kind words with Sean! We look forward to your next visit with us.

  119. Sissy

It has always been such a great experience, great food as well!!! 😋
