Mardi Gras at Universal Orlando

What could be better this time of year than eating some mouthwatering gumbo and listening to some jazz music from the Big Easy? During our Mardi Gras celebration, you can get a taste of some authentic NOLA cuisine at our French Quarter Courtyard. Plus, you’ll get performances by bands pulled straight from Bourbon Street.

Along with the authentic food & music, you’ll enjoy a rockin’ parade with floats engineered by Blaine Kern Artists—the same company that has been hand-crafting floats for the iconic New Orleans celebration since 1947. This year’s parade features four new floats that celebrate different cultures and festivals from around the world—Venetian Carnival, Oktoberfest, 4th of July and Rio de Janeiro Carnival.

And did I mention there will be more than 1.7 million beads? You’ll be catching beads by the handful all night!

You can experience it all with an annual pass or admission to Universal Studios Florida.

See you at Florida’s Biggest Party!

Are the concerts included with your day pass…or are they extra?…are seats assigned ? is there seating for the concerts ?

    • John,

The concerts are included with park admission or an annual pass. There is no assigned seating and it is standing room only in our Music Plaza Courtyard. Hope you can make it!

can you purchase tickets just for the concert or do you have to pay the park admission

    • Dora,
The concerts are not a separately ticketed event and are included with the purchase of a park admission ticket to Universal Studios Florida. Plus, you can experience the amazing parade & great Cajun cuisine as well; how awesome?!

I am coming there during Mardi Gras to see Adam Lambert on March 13. I need to get one of the motorized wheelchairs. I’ve done this before, but don’t remember how I reserve one. Would you please let me know how I go about doing that?? I know I have to get there early to get one, which I will be there early and wait in line to see Adam. Thanks for any info you can give me.

    • Robin,

You can rent a motorized vehicle or wheelchair at the entrance of each park. For more information, please feel free to reach out to Guest Services at 407-224-4233. Have fun at the concert!

      • Robin

But how far in advance should I rent one?? Can I do it now?? Also, are the ticket prices different during Mardi Gras than regular days. For instance, can I purchase my ticket now for March 13??

And if I can reserve a wheelchair now, how do I get in touch with someone??

Hi, I will be on holiday visiting all the parks in April and luckily we will be coming to universal for Mardi gras and when jessi j will be doing a show please could you advise me if it will be ok for two children to attend the show or does it get a little to crowded and hectic. And would it be limited viewing space or will you have screens up so everyone can see no matter were they are stood even if very far away.
Thankyou in advance for your help

    • Caroline,

We are thrilled that you are joining us for our Mardi Gras Celebration this year! All concerts are held in at the Music Plaza stage at our Universal Studios Florida theme park. Small children tend to attend this event as it is family-friendly and there are Jumbotrons to give the audience a view of the stage regardless of your proximity to the stage. We look forward to having you and your family join us for our Mardi Gras Celebration!

I purchases the park hopper yearly pass but I’m the one with black out dates. Can we attended these events for mardi gras?

  7. Dom Quirke

What tie of day are the music performances and parades please? Are the parades on everyday during Feb 6th – April 16th?

    • Hi Dom,

The parade starts at 7:45 p.m. on every event date while the musical performances start at 8:30 p.m. The parades only take place on event nights. We hope you can make it here to experience Mardi Gras this year!
