When I was little, I was the true definition of a “Tom Boy.” I climbed trees, played outside, and loved super heroes almost as much as I loved my little red push pedal fire truck. And then the most amazing thing happened to this tom boy… I became a “Boymom.” It truly is an experience that I adore living every day!
And when the boys and I decided to check out the all-new Marvel Character Dinner experience at Universal Islands of Adventure (along with my brother’s family), we knew we were going to have an Incredible, Amazing, Colossal good time.
Here are a few tips for being the “Cap” of your crew during this dining adventure:
1. Start taking it all in from the second you arrive
As you approach Cafe 4 from the entrance of Universal Islands of Adventure, you’re welcomed by the roar of The Incredible Hulk Coaster. Stop here for a fun photo op with your crew (we chose to look down for ours).
2. Prepare for your super hero welcome
Be sure to pick up your tickets at the park entrance before you head to the main entrance of Cafe 4. Upon arrival, you and other guests of the Marvel Character Dinner will have the restaurant all to yourselves. You’ll be greeted by smiling and enthusiastic Team Members ready to help start your super hero-filled night. There are a variety of seating times available for you to choose from, so book early and take advantage of the seating that’s right for you.
3. Get settled and ready for some delicious food and fun drinks (parents…you can even enjoy a “grown up” drink!)
Your server will help you begin your super meal with a variety of great drink options, as well as an overview of the buffet to get your Spidey senses tingling. From a variety of pizzas, pastas and salads to giant meatballs, cupcakes, cookies and more, there is absolutely something for everyone.
And your friendly neighborhood culinary team is ready to help with any special food requests you and your family may have. They’re there to make sure you swing back for seconds and thirds…and maybe fourths. I promise, your secret is safe with me.
4. Our favorite part – the amazing super heroes!
You truly will be amazed at the amount of meet-n-greet time you’ll have with your favorite Marvel Super Heroes. This alone was worth the price of admission. These heroes don’t come by just to pose for a photo or two, they take the time to stop and chat and laugh with you and your crew. (By the end of the meal, you’ll be friends with all the heroes!)
Don’t forget your autograph books or merchandise you’d like to have signed. And be sure your camera and phone batteries are fully charged so you can capture every incredible moment!

5. Go for a ride!
The fun doesn’t have to end once you’ve cleaned your dessert plate! We helped Spider-Man save the day on The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man ride before heading out for the night. Depending on when your dinner ends, the rides may be closed. However, you can still end your night by grabbing those last minute photos in Marvel Super Hero Island!
Spending this time together as a family, laughing and meeting our favorite super heroes, was an absolutely priceless experience. We did it together, as a team, and all got in on the fun!
