One of the amazing benefits of staying at one of our resort hotels is leaving your travel worries behind and hopping on a water taxi, shuttle bus, or taking a short walk over to one of our three spectacular theme parks.

Water Taxi

Complimentary Water Taxi at Loews Portofino Bay Hotel

My favorite ride to start the day at Universal Orlando Resort is the water taxi. Water taxis are available exclusively at Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, Hard Rock Hotel Orlando, Loews Royal Pacific Resort and Loews Sapphire Falls Resort, with an average travel time of less than 10 minutes and beautiful views to enjoy along the way. The water taxi takes you straight from the hotel to Universal CityWalk. From there, you can choose to head to Universal’s Islands of Adventure or Universal Studios Florida. Either park you choose is equally awesome.

Shuttle Bus

Complimentary Shuttles from Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort

Another option for transportation to our parks is the shuttle bus. The shuttle bus is offered at all of our hotels including Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort, Universal’s Aventura Hotel and Universal’s Endless Summer ResortSurfside Inn and Suites & Dockside Inn and Suites. If you’re staying at Portofino Bay Hotel, Hard Rock Hotel, Royal Pacific Resort or Sapphire Falls Resort, starting an hour before Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure open, the shuttle busses run every 30 minutes to CityWalk until 2AM. The shuttle busses to Volcano Bay run an hour before and after the park opens and closes. If you’re staying at Cabana Bay Beach Resort, Aventura Hotel, Surfside Inn and Suites or Dockside Inn and Suites, the shuttle busses run every 15 minutes and will take you directly to CityWalk where you can easily walk to Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure.

Walking Path

The last method of transportation is also the oldest mode of transportation… by foot! Most of our hotels offer a connecting walking path that takes you from one hotel to another or to CityWalk, Universal Studios Florida or Islands of Adventure. One of the really cool benefits about staying at Cabana Bay Beach Resort, Aventura Hotel and Sapphire Falls Resort is that these hotels offer a dedicated walking path straight to Volcano Bay. This path is just a short walk over to the thrills of the slides and the relaxation of Waturi Beach under the Krakatau volcano.

Need some help deciding which mode of transportation is best for you? Here’s a handy guide with details on all three options.

What’s your favorite way to get to the parks? Let us know in the comments.

Even walking, its so beautiful that it is enjoyable.

  2. Dave

So between Cabana Bay across the street and Aventura a stones throw away, how is Universal going to keep EVERYONE from using Sapphire Falls Boats?
They either need to figure out a way to stop it or have many many more boats running. But considering they encourage resort hopping they better get more boats.
This is a detriment to Royal Pacific as that darn stop light already slows down the journey.

I have been before. Truly Lovely. Going, again.

  4. Sue

Water taxi to/from Sapphire is over crowded, due to people staying at Cabana Bay and Aventura using it 🤨 putting me off staying again

  5. Lyndsey

If you arent staying at one of the hotels, can you still use the water taxis?? Do you have to show proof of stay i.e Hotel key etc??

    • Hi Lyndsey!
You are able to utilize the Water Taxis whether you are staying at one of our hotels or not. Hope this helps.

  6. Rachael Kilpatrick

Can you update this to include Surfside Inn and Suites

  7. Dan

Transportation is really lacking at universal. Been here less than a day and I wish they would have learned from Disney.

    • Hi Dan, we are sorry to hear that. We will be sure to document your feedback and forward it to the appropriate Team.

I am staying at the Drury. Once their shuttle drops me off at city walk how do i get to the shuttle that goes to volcano bay?

    • Hi Matt! There will be signs that will direct you to the Volcano Bay portion of the parking garage, where you can hop on a shuttle to Volcano Bay!

I have a conference at the Portofino Bay Hotel and I was thinking about staying at another Universal’s Hotel. Is it easy to get from one hotel to another? The conference starts at 7:30 am daily.

A bit of clarification, so if you stay at Portofino Bay Hotel, Hard Rock Hotel, Royal Pacific Resort or Sapphire Falls Resort the shuttles run every 30 minutes to city walk until 2AM but if you stay at Cabana Bay Beach Resort, Aventura Hotel, Surfside Inn and Suites or Dockside Inn and Suites the shuttles run every 15 minutes to city walk. Do those shuttles also go until 2AM? or do they stop earlier?

    Thank you.

Can you use any of the transportation if you use a mobility scooter or is walking the only way to get to the attractions from the hotels? Thank you

  12. Orlando Rios

#wizarding world of Harry Potter is where I’d like to take my family to start off or vacation if we were lucky enough to go. Aventura Falls I believe would be ideal for our stay.

  13. Nan Miller

Is there any way to take a scooter on the transportation from the hotel to the park

    • Hello Nan. Yes, our Resort Buses are fully ADA accessible, and Team Members would be happy to accommodate as needed. Please feel free to call Guest Services at (407) 224 – 4233 (option 4) for further questions about transportation and much more.

Can I take luggage on the shuttles to transfer from Royal Pacific to Dockside?
