Meet the Minions at Universal Orlando’s New Despicable Me Character Breakfast

The characters of Despicable Me are a family favorite. And running around the house speaking “Minionese” is a fun activity for many children, including my trio.

So, when we had the chance to have breakfast with the Minions, Gru and the girls at Universal Orlando’s new Despicable Me Character Breakfast at Loews Royal Pacific Resort, I couldn’t wait to see how the kiddos would react.

When arriving at Royal Pacific, we headed to the Tahitian room, just next to the conference area of the hotel.

We sat down at our reserved table to take in a huge breakfast buffet of hot and cold items including pancakes, bacon, eggs and potatoes, an array of baked goods and the kids’ favorite cereals.

This, of course, was the highlight of the morning. My oldest took it with ease, catching up with the Minions like they were her oldest friends.

The character breakfast was the perfect length of time for the kids’ attention span, about an hour long. It not only got us ready for a day in the parks by properly filling our bellies, but the kids had a personal meeting with their favorite characters—a double win for mommy.

Well..this was AWFUL! When we got the the entrance I asked for the location of the breakfast and I was sent to the wrong restaurant, that should have been a clue. When we got the the correct location we discovered it was outdoor seating with the sun blazing down, horrible food choices (carbs, runny watery eggs, greasy gross bacon) and horrid service. It got the the point where we were pouring our own drinks, it was easier after asking for juice more then twice. The only saving grace was the my LO got to meet the minions and give them a banana. Don’t go, save the money it was nowhere near worth it.
