Everything you missed at the 3rd Annual Universal Sales Partner Awards
The 3rd Annual Universal Sales Partner Awards have come and gone but I’m here to give you all the details. This year the awards were bigger and better than ever. If this is the first time you’ve heard about the Universal Sales Partner Awards, oh boy, I have so much to tell you, but let’s start at the beginning.
What are the Sales Partner Awards?
The Universal Sales Partner Awards is an invite-only event that recognizes the relationships we have with our partners at Universal Orlando Resort. Award categories include Trail Blazer, Visionary Partner, Top Advocate, Top Partner, and my personal favorite, the “best dressed” award. Partners from all over the world like Despegar, Virgin Holidays, Expedia, Booking.com, Entertainment Benefits Group, and Thomas Cook, just to name a few, come to celebrate authentic relationships and to take home an award. Nominees and winners are selected through a rigorous selection process that includes Universal Orlando Resort Executive Leadership panels, Universal Orlando Resort Sales Management Panels, state of the art metric systems, a hat, and paper and pencils.
This year’s event had a Mardi Gras theme and the night started with a reception service in the Soundstage 33 Courtyard at Universal Studios. Drinks, light entertainment, and meaningful conversations were had. As guests entered the soundstage they were transported to a luxurious French Quarter dining experience, (shout out to the Events Management Team). It was truly a gorgeous setting and the dining was no exception.
As the guests settled into their seats, the host introduced special guests, none other than Bill Davis, President and COO of Universal Orlando Resort and Alice Norsworthy, CMO of Universal Parks & Resort for a very special Q&A. Bill Davis discussed new attractions and new dining experiences coming in 2019 and thanked everyone in the room for their partnership. Xiomara Wiley, EVP, and CMO of Universal Orlando Resort was also in attendance. It was a great reminder of Universal Orlando Resort’s core values of fun and dedication to partnerships.
As the Q&A ended it was time to dine. The soulful yet contemporary band, Nik and Reema played top hits and a few oldies over dinner. It is an understatement to say they were amazing. Can I get Nik and Reema to play for me every night? I digress.
At last, it was time for the moment we’ve been waiting for, the awards ceremony. As the host introduced Frank Belzer, SVP of Sales Management to the stage, he communicated his appreciation for everyone in the room. As Universal Orlando Resort leadership took the stage to present the awards, suspense built and it was finally time to find out the winner for each category.

So what did I learn?
I learned that Universal Orlando Resort values partners and events like these are just a small demonstration of their continued commitment to them. I also learned that Universal Orlando Resort’s Leadership is ready for Big Apple Fashion Week (you know the one).
