Scope of Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure

Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure – the epic new addition to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade – is now open at Universal Orlando Resort. To get you excited for this “story coaster,” we’re sharing 7 details about the ground-breaking coaster technology and all-new environments.

1. Journey Beyond the Grounds of Hogwarts castle

You’ll venture to the edge of the Forbidden Forest and enter ruins that have seemingly been abandoned for centuries behind Hagrid’s hut. The ruins were imagined and brought to life by Universal Creative in collaboration with the Harry Potter films’ Production Designer, Stuart Craig, and Art Director, Alan Gilmore. This is where your Care of Magical Creatures class with Hagrid will begin.

2. All-New Environments and Sets

Inside the ruins, you will see materials from Hagrid’s Care of Magical Creatures class, including dragon eggs on the verge of hatching and a makeshift nursery where he kept his Blast-Ended Skrewts in a terrarium before they outgrew the chamber.

There is also a pre-show featuring digital projection technology and special effects, where you’ll encounter Arthur Weasley, Hagrid, and his loyal dog, Fang.

But the experience doesn’t stop there! Once you board your motorbike, you’ll plunge deeper into the Forbidden Forest and closer to some of the wizarding world’s rarest magical creatures.

Here are some additional thrilling fun facts about the experience that will be brought to life with innovative coaster technology:

3. The Most Launches of Any Roller Coaster in the World – 7 Total Launches!

5. The Longest Roller Coaster in Florida, Measuring Nearly a Mile in Length (5,053 Feet)

Your adventure into the Forbidden Forest is bound to be an exciting one – so keep your eyes peeled for creatures and mischief around every turn.

6. Enchanted Motorbikes Will Take You On an Adventure Through the Forbidden Forest – and You Can Ride the Motorcycle Like Hagrid or Board the Adjacent Sidecar Like Harry Potter

I think we should start a poll now – do you think you’ll be Team Motorcycle or Team Sidecar?

7. The “Story Coaster” Will Catapult You 65 Feet in the Air at a More Than 70-Degree Angle…Then Drop You Backward in One Movement

This will be the time to hold on tight and trust Hagrid to get you through your journey. Buckle up, it’s going to be a wild ride.

This ride looks phenomenal! One thing here that stands out to me is the statement saying that this ride will be the first in the US to use a free fall vertical drop track. That’s incorrect, as Verbolten at Busch Gardens Williamsburg opened in 2012 and contains a very similar drop track, falling 16 feet.

We can’t wait! We have our hotel booked for June 13. Will express pass be available opening day? Also, if there is a pass holder special preview day, we’d love to be there!!!!!

Is it a true outdoor ride, or an indoor one that makes you think it’s outdoor?

How long will this ride be (time wise)? In other words, how many minutes does the ride last?

I have been super excited for this coaster as it was initially said to be a family coaster, but that doesn’t seem to be how it’s turned out. I love the theme and all the new elements built and incorporated, and I’m confident it will be technologically advanced. I love Escape from Gringott’s Bank and don’t mind that drop, but I’m very concerned about the backward segment and vertical free fall drop. How far is the backward portion of the ride? Any indication how many Gs for this ride?

This ride looks fantastic for me because I am a Number 1 fan of Harry Potter and I will be going on this ride when we next go to Orlando in the near future and we love nice and gentle roller coasters that do drops and turns and not by doing the horrible loop the loops at high speed and height I am looking forward to going on this ride

    SO COOL

  • Reply Jo May 27, 2019 at 4:02 pm

How in the world could you see anything going that fast and your a nervous wreck just twisting and turning? I’d probably throw up on everyone, but I know many will like this ride, but I’d like to see the forbidden forest in a slower way…like a bike.

  • Reply Big and Beautiful May 29, 2019 at 1:28 am

Is this one going to have accommodations for people of size? Surely a motorcycle or two on the ride devoted to a giant could have more flexible sizing.

I wish there was a similar ride that was not so scary. You need to make one with short drops and doesn’t go so fast.

I am very excited to ride HAGRID’S MAGICAL CREATURES MOTORBIKE ADVENTURE. I’ve been waiting 2 years. Concerning seat belts, will this ride be safe with the free fall vertical drop? If it’s a complete 90 degree fall straight down, I fear that there might not be enough protection on this coaster adventure. How can you ensure the safety of your guests? This coaster does not seem family friendly as it was once said to be.

The safety of our Guests is our highest priority. We would never intentionally place our Guests in an unsafe situation, and at no time would we allow our Guests to experience an unsafe attraction. More information will be released as it gets closer about the attraction!

What a disappointment to buy the tickets by phone and that no one nor here on the website published when they were going to close the Hagrid attraction for maintenance. That’s something they should announce or warn customers before selling them tickets.
