Summer Lives On at Universal Orlando Resort
Some of my most memorable moments as a kid were spent during the summer in San Diego with my neighborhood friends running from house to house chasing each other with water guns until one of us kids reigned supreme. When we got too hot (or when we wanted to forfeit but didn’t want to be called a wuss), we would jump into my pool and swim until my parents came home and fired up the barbecue to make dinner.
These moments still remain my favorites from summertime. As summer turns to fall, you can still create unforgettable memories and enjoy your favorite summer activities at Universal Orlando Resort. Here are some tips that can help make every day seem like a summer one.
Relax by the PoolHanging by the pool can be one of the best parts of summer, especially if you’re surrounded by good company. Universal has four on-site hotels, each with magnificent pools that offer unique experiences year round.
The lazy river at Cabana Bay Beach Resort is the perfect place to relax (or have a water gun fight with your friends) and the serene, white sand beaches at Loews Royal Pacific Resort remind me of a vacation on an island hidden in the Caribbean. No matter how you slice it, these relaxing pools are sure to have you feeling like its summer any day of the year.
Fire up the BarbequeAt Universal CityWalk’s Hot Dog Hall of Fame, you’re sure to find something that’ll have you reminiscing on summer barbecues with your family and friends. Here, you can experience iconic hot dogs from some of the nation’s most famous ballparks. With nine unique hot dogs, you’re sure to find something summer-esque, like the Los Angeles Dog, which reminds me of the hot dogs my friends and I cooked during summers in southern California.
Enjoy Signature CocktailsSometimes, an ice cold, mouthwatering cocktail is the perfect way to take a little heat off a scorching hot summer day. Between two theme parks and the restaurants at Universal CityWalk, we’ve got plenty of signature cocktails to keep you cool any day of the year. For some adult fun, check out my guilty pleasure, the Blood Orange Margarita at Antojitos Authentic Mexican Food in CityWalk.
Savor Ice CreamWho doesn’t remember chasing an ice cream truck down the street during summer to get a cool scoop? We won’t make you run for our ice cream, but you’ll definitely want to hurry and check out some of our signature creations.
We’ve got plenty of selections throughout our theme parks and at CityWalk like my favorite, the refreshing Earl Grey & Lavender ice cream at Florean Fortescue’s Ice-Cream Parlour in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley. We’ve also got the finest and freshest custom creations at Cold Stone Creamery and great tasting frozen yogurt at Menchie’s in CityWalk.
With plenty of activities at Universal Orlando to make it feel like summer all year long, you’re sure to find something perfect for you and your family.
