The wait is almost over! “Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon” has begun its technical rehearsal at Universal Studios Florida. If you’re visiting the park sometime soon, you may have the opportunity to get a sneak peek of the attraction before it officially opens on April 6.

You may have some questions about what technical rehearsal means. Here are some answers to commonly asked questions:

  • What is a technical rehearsal?
Technical rehearsal is a time for us to offer a limited number of guests the opportunity to preview our newest attraction as we put the finishing touches in preparation for its official opening.
  • What can I expect during technical rehearsal?
During technical rehearsal, “Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon” will open on a limited, unscheduled basis. Also, some of its elements may not be operational as we continue to test and refine everything.
  • What are operating hours for “Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon” during technical rehearsal?
Operating hours will not be set in advance and will vary as the attraction opens on a limited, unscheduled basis.
  • Is Virtual Line available during technical rehearsal?
Since the attraction is in technical rehearsal, Virtual Line and other attraction elements may or may not be available. If Virtual Line is available, you’ll be able to access it through the Universal Orlando Mobile App or the kiosks located in front of the attraction. If Virtual Line is not available, you’ll proceed either directly into the attraction or into the standby line, if available. Virtual Line allows you to enjoy other areas of Universal Studios Florida as they await their ride time for “Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon.”
  • Do I need a colored peacock feather card in order to move through the experience if I’ve already waited in the Virtual Line?
Yes, the colored peacock feather card is designed to move guests through the interactive pre-show area once they enter the attraction. In the interactive pre-show area, you’ll be able to explore the interactive elements and entertainment, including:
    • Real props and set pieces from The Tonight Show in the memorabilia hall
    • A special live performance from the Ragtime Gals barbershop quartet in the Studio 6B Club
    • Meet and greet with The Tonight Show’s beloved mascot, Hashtag the Panda
    • Interactive Desks where you can prep for their race with a ‘Jimmy Drive’ retro-style video game, watch your favorite show clips and more

*Universal Express access is not valid during technical rehearsal

“Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon” will give you the ultimate “Tonight Show” experience as you get up close and personal with the show’s most hilarious segments before taking off on a wild and action-packed race through New York City against Jimmy Fallon himself.

The show building looks really good! Fits that section of the park so well.
But… I really really wish you all would do something with that blank section on the left side.
If not more faux skyscraper, maybe some paint to make it match the rest at least?

Regrettably, the ticket lottery for the Orlando tapings has ended. All 4 shows sold out within 10 minutes.

Got a chance to ride the ” Race ” was better than thought. I worked in Rockfeller Plaza area the details in the lobby were to the t. Even the lobby floor was right on. A lot of effort was put in to this attraction – excellant job.

We rode this and the first downstairs waiting area is TOO HOT need fans or AC and your workers wearing those coats in this heat can be a safety problem.
2nd point the actually seats on the rides are un comfortable for bigger type people. The way its arched does not feel good.
The show its self is really not that impressive. I really thought there would be something else to it.
Over all thank you for allowing us to try it out prior to the main opening.
Seriously please fix the AC there’s no air flow in there if it gets hotter in summer time and there’s a lot of people in there its going to get horrible.
