Create Your Own Moving Photographs at Shutterbutton’s

I remember seeing Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in 2001 and immediately wishing I could join Harry, Ron and Hermione in the wizarding world to experience all of its magic. 

13 years later, and not only can I do just that in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley, but I can even create my very own moving photographs at Shutterbutton’s in Diagon Alley.

Recently, I journeyed into Diagon Alley with two of my fellow team members, Christian and Bodie, to see what it was all about. The main entrance to Shutterbutton’s is located next to Madam Malkin’s Robes for All Occasions.

Upon entering the photography studio, we were warmly greeted by the staff and asked if we wanted to have a moving portraits photo album of ourselves made to commemorate our visit to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Needless to say, we jumped at that opportunity!

Against a special background, our photographer guided us through 12 iconic scenes from The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade.

You’ll get to feature in lots of photo moments that recreate highlights from The Wizarding World of Harry Potter like riding the Hogwarts Express, cowering from the fire-breathing dragon atop Gringotts bank, and my favorite: getting scared by one of your friends as they appear on a “Have You Seen This Wizard?” poster.

The entire process takes about 15 – 20 minutes and you’ll get your very own DVD photo album in a collectible Shutterbutton’s tin. We had so much fun and a lot of laughs too. Shutterbutton’s is definitely on my “must-do” list when visiting Diagon Alley.

            I just visited universal for our 3 rd time and found shutterbutton, what a treat!!! I love our video, so much fun and great memories. However we also did not receive our MP4, my frame just came in and I realized we never received the email. Called the number ,closed but will try tomorrow. Help! Lol

          I have not received my digital copy either. It is frustrating because I called guest services, they were closed and then I called them back after sending an e-mail and then they told me to call another 800 number where I can’t get in touch with them until Monday….. frustrating when it shouldn’t be because the digital copy that you can share is part of the price of it after only getting to see the three pictures they pick to show you before you purchase such an expensive item. I’m irritated that I paid the 69.99 plus Florida tax at universal and did not yet receive what was promised…..

      You can choose your favorite pics and upload them on one of those digital photo frames. It should look AWESOME!

    But since it IS my daughters birthday that we’re coming for, does Universal do anything special for her? Ie., a pin, balloon, I don’t know. I just know Disney does certain special things and I wasn’t sure if Universal does the same or not? Thanks AGAIN! I promise … NO more posts. 🙂

    Were there the end of Feb. 2015 and purchased the DVD and was promised that we would receive a digital copy which we have never received. I did call 1-800-368-6386 and could only leave a message. Just want to say it was an amazing experience! We had so much fun! Even though we are bad actors we love the DVD and the memory of doing this…..soooo much fun! 🙂

    Has anybody bought the photo card package for universal which includes the shutterbox dvd , is it worth it , as anyone done the moving picture at diagon alley and is it busy it states 15 to 20 minutes it takes but was wondering if its worth paying the $99.95 if it is so busy with queues etc or would you get the 1 day package , i thought with you getting a dvd it would be worth it but wanted peoples views

    • Will ~ This would be a special experience within Diagon Alley that is separate from from all other ride photo experiences outside both Wizarding Worlds of Harry Potter. It’s definitely something you don’t want to miss — it’s quite magical!

    • Hi Alyanna 🙂 Reservations are not needed at Shutterbutton’s as it is at a first come basis. I would recommend visiting Diagon Alley and Shutterbutton’s first thing in the morning. That way there is typically less of a chance of there being a wait. Will this be your first time visiting Diagon Alley?

    We just got back from vacation at Universal Orlando. My husband had made a reservation for us to do a video at Shutterbuttons on December 28th at 3pm. Everything went well. We shot the video and then watched the preview. However, it could not be burned to a DVD on that day and we never received an email video. When we went back the next day, as requested, to pick the DVD up, we were told that it was lost. One of your representatives said that the mother company may have a copy. Could you please, please check to see if you have it in your stored files? In that film, I was able to talk my husband into playing along. He wouldn’t do it a second time, so it is just me in the second film…which is extremely boring. I am very disappointed. Thank you so much, in advance, for your help in this matter.

        The Video is about 2 minutes long and has.. a scene from the Knight Bus, Ollivander’s, outside Gringotts, inside HoneyDukes, bowing to a Hippogriff, aboard the Hogwarts Express, in front of the Hogwarts train in Hogsmeade, getting a lecture from Dumbledore and finally in front of Hogwarts Castle.

    I just got home from my visit to Universal Studios, and although I some what like the final product of my video all I can think about is the awful experience. We went into the room and the guy was not helpful and did not even tell us what was going to happen I had to ask. Then he spoke so fast about each scene and gave us no time to think about what we wanted to do in the scene. It was so rushed. It took five minutes tops. I told him to stop rushing us and he continued anyway. We had just spent $230 on Robes and $80 on the secession. Not to mention how much we spend to just be there; tickets, hotel, plane, food. Anyway, I just think we spent enough to have a better quality service.

    Wife & I bought a Universal/Portofino/Air package which included Shutterbutton on 5/28/16 at noon. We wanted to take home the Video DVD. When we got home we found it was a blank DVD in a nice case. Would not play on our DVD player and computer showed it was a blank DVD. When I went onto the email link it had no instructions on how to download a video copy. OK, what am I doing wrong?? A little help would be appreciated. We really hoped to be able to show the video to family.

I don’t understand how to buy a 14 day star card at $139.99 commencing Tues 2 August 2016 and the Shutterbuttons experience, I’ve read its an extra $49.95 if you’ve bought a package and signed up on line – I have joined using my email & using a password so think this means I’ve joined as a member.
    I can only see the Shutterbuttons with the 3 days.
