Rockitman celebrates his 10,000th ride on Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit at Universal Orlando Resort

Meet Clifford, or as everyone at Universal Orlando Resort knows him, Rockitman.

As an Annual Passholder and thrill seeker, he constantly finds himself spending the day in our parks. One ride in particular he loves more than the others – Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit.

Since the coaster opened, he’s made it his mission to be the record holder for the most rides on Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit – earning him the title of Rockitman. And now, we’re celebrating his 10,000th ride!

I caught up with him to congratulate him and ask some quick questions:

DR: How did you become known as Rockitman?
C: The crew here at Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit actually gave me the name. One day, a Team Member called me Rockitman as I was boarding, and it just stuck!

DR: Why have you ridden this particular coaster 10,000 times?
C: It’s definitely the music and being able to pick your own song.

DR: What is your go-to song when you ride?
C: I got the secret song list and I like 113 Led Zeppelin and 101 Rush.

DR: How does it feel to hit this milestone?
C: I’m really happy and proud to being up to 10,000 rides. I love roller coasters.

To commemorate his 10,000th ride, President and Chief Operating Officer of Universal Orlando Resort Bill Davis and the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit team joined him in celebrating this major milestone.

Congrats, Rockitman! And here’s to the next 10,000.

I am wonder how and who counted these rides. Who’s to say this 10,000 is accurate?

I am wondering the same as Brian, so the ride open on August of 2009, roughly 6 and a half yeas ago, which means he will have to ride around 4.2 times each day or assuming he goes once a week every week for the last 6 1/2 years that’s around 30 times per week. Normal wait time I imagine is like 45 min , so that’s 13.5 hours on the line if he only goes one time per week ? It does not quite add up , but who’s counting
